So today, we decided that today (July 3rd) would be our last day at the festival. We started to get really worn out! Ha! Showing my age!!! There was only one band I really wanted to see on the Saturday – Mastodon, but I’ve seen them a few times before, and although they are awesome – it was feeling difficult to stick around all day and most of the evening for one band. We booked a room in a town an hour away from the festival and decided that we would pack up and get out before the crowds decided to.
Anyway, back to the 2nd July. I was going to go to the areana to watch The Rasmus and their one good song. Thankfully, I decided to listen to them from the campsite. I’m glad I did, they were awful, and they played that song! Headed over to the areana and caught a great black metal band called Hulder. Never hear them before. I was just passing the second stage and they were just starting their set. Wow, they were good. Another band to check out when back home.

The main draw today was Trivium and Limp Bizkit. Never seen Trivium live before, and they were completely awesome. A great set and great energy.

In terms of Limp Bizkit, I could never get into them back in the day. I really didn;t like them at all. However, back in Reading 2015 I had a choice, Mumford & Sons headlining the main stage or Limp Bizkit headlining the second stage in a circus tent. So I chose LImp Bizkit, and they were absolutely awesome! They really should’ve been healining the main stage. They really could have. The energy was great – the crowd were well into it and it was an awesome set and possibly the best set and the biggest surprise of the weekend (bearing in mind that this was the weekend that Metallica headlined!).
I was really looking forward to seeing LB, but not sure if it was because it was a bigger crowd, or the fact that you weren’t contained in a cauldron like a circus tent, it just didn’t feel as good or intense. OK, so I got my wish of seeing them headline a main stage, but I think it took the energy away a bit. Don’t get me wrong, they were great! It just wasn’t as good as when I saw them back at Reading Festival. They played all the hits. They had a great karaoke style visual as a backdrop, simple, but I really liked it. Certainly got the crowd singing along more!! Fred invited a couple of people up on stage – one for a borthday, they other to sing a song with him. Poor girl who was brought up to sing seemed to be so excited she vomited on stage, which Fred spent the rest of the set trying to dodge!! Ha!!
